The world's top three countries coffee producers
Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of coffee. Its exports account for about a third of world exports and the country's total cultivated area is about 26,000 square kilometers.
2. Vietnam (573,000 metric tons)
Coffee is the second most important crop in Vietnam after rice. After the country recovered from economic turmoil and export disruptions as a result of the Vietnam War, the export industry continued to rise to second place in the world's largest coffee exporting list.
3. Colombia (more than 341,000 metric tons)
Most coffee is grown in Colombia in an area known as the "Colombian coffee area" or "Eche Vitero" in Spanish.
